Our Story

Then Until Now

Our Story

Our story isn’t a classic “boy meets girl, love at first sight, swept off her feet” kind of fairytale. Half of our story actually takes place without Jordan even knowing.

While we attended the same Church for a couple of years, we were never in the same circles - Jordan had his church family dinner on a Tuesday night and Tamar’s was on a Wednesday night. But after being thrown into leadership together, leading the next generation, Tamar started to take an interest.

Fast forward 18 months and 3 almost attempts at asking her out for coffee, we finally had our first “date” at Starbucks which was closely monitored by Tamar’s sister Ashleigh (who we both love and we are sorry about the mosquitos outside!). After navigating time together around Tamar finishing university, moving houses, lockdowns and restrictions, we were engaged June 14th 2021 and have never been happier to start life as the Websters!

Life is funny really. You don't know exactly what is around the corner and believe me when I say, this part of it was definitely not noticed or actioned on my part for a while. It took months of overthinking and anticipation before our first date actually happened. It's crazy to look back now and think "wow... was it really that hard to ask?"

From many dates and gifts, we made the most of the time we could together in amongst juggling our busy lives and that made the time we had together even more special. All relationships have their ups and downs but they also make you true to who you are and definitely made us a stronger couple. We had to navigate many curveballs including lockdowns and we still always found a way for each other.

I'm forever blessed to have had Tamar come into my life and there is not a thing I'd change about our history. She is the one I will call my wife and the one who I'm so excited to share my entire life with. Not a day goes by that I don't look back and think what if? We share so much in common and we will definitely continue to grow into this relationship everyday. I'm so thankful that God would place a woman of your character and shine in my life.

While we only started dating in April 2019, I had been dreaming and picturing life with Jordan 18 months prior. What started as an exchange of glances at Bligh Park McDonalds, rolled into messages with Debbie and Georgia, long conversations with Ash and Bess and lots of prayers and seeking wisdom. And at that same Maccas was where Jordan asked me out one Friday night after Church.

We hung out at Starbucks the next week, too nervous to eat or drink. But we eased into it and was like we had been friends for years. We kept our relationship quiet for the first couple of months, not wanting to have any external pressure on the both of us.

Fast forward to today, enduring the highs and lows of the relationship, feeling the strain of my busy schedule, 2 lockdowns (where I could barely leave my LGA for the second one), celebrating me finishing uni and moving into full time work, the past 3 years have certainly been full on, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

She Said Yes!
